Dorothy E. Alexander

Dorothy E. Alexander, 91, of Lucas, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland. She was born on April 7, 1926 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio to C. Samuel and Mildred Wilson Crawford. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle Florence and Frank Crawford at the age of 7.

She retired from Therm-O-Disc in 1991. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Lucas, volunteered for the Alzheimer's Association for a number of years and enjoyed taking care of others.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas M. and Bonnie Alexander and Keith and Lourinda Alexander; eight grandchildren, Shannon Alexander (Nathan), Jason (Amanda) Alexander, Dustin Alexander, Jeff Loveley, Jennifer (John) Redmen, Heidi Shafner, Paris Shafner and Cassey Shafner; numerous great grandchildren; many step children and step grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Eaton; and two brothers, Neil and Dean Crawford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Alexander; two daughters, Terry A. Loveley and Connie Sue Shafner; a granddaughter, Alicia Alexander; a step grandson, Jason Alexander; and a brother, Dale Crawford.

Private graveside services for the family will be held at Mansfield Cemetery.
