Donald S. Quinn, 83, of Mansfield, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was born to Edward W. and Martha Helen Quinn on July 17, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Donald was a 1950 graduate of Ontario High School. He owned and operated Quinn Paint and Color for over 40 years alongside his wife, Loretta. He served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. He was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, and belonged toVenus Lodge #152 F&AM, Mansfield Chapter #28, Mansfield Council #94 and was Past Eminent Commander of Mansfield Commandery #21. He enjoyed golfing, classic cars, and traveling with his wife. He was a gracious helper at the Salvation Army kitchen and enjoyed helping pick-up food donations. Donald was also a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Donald is survived by his sisters, Betty Q. Crichton of Fairborn, Ohio, and Patsy Secrist of Mansfield, Ohio; his sisters-in-law, Karen Quinn, Nancy (Jim) Shoenfelt and Jane (Phil) Plummer all of Mansfield, Ohio; his brother-in-law, Jim (Marilyn) Arnold of Mansfield, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a special friend, Linda Zirkel of Mansfield, Ohio.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Loretta Quinn, whom he married on September 20, 1958; his parents; and two brothers, Edward Quinn, Jr., and George Quinn.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. A Masonic service will be held at 5:00 pm following the visitation. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki, will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 10:30 am, also at the Diamond Street Home followed by Military Services by the Richland Country Joint Veterans Burial Detail. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
