Diane Louise Stephens, 68, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Diane was born on May 27, 1950 in Wolcott, Indiana. She was the daughter of Thomas and Phyllis (Fisher) Hughes.
Diane was a 1968 graduate of Wolcott High School, and she attended Porter Business College. She was employed at Mansfield Neurology until 2010 when she retired. She loved being active and was involved with many organizations that kept her very busy. She was the President of the Liederkranz Soccer League, Secretary of Ohio Youth Soccer Association, an active member of the ladies auxiliary at Amvets Post 26, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved a night out for either a steak dinner or dancing with her husband. She enjoyed bird watching, her flower gardens, working and helping at the Amvets, and deer watching.
Diane is survived by her husband of over 24 years, Roy Stephens of Mansfield; sons, Dean (Monica) Taylor of West Virginia, Heath (Nikki) Stephens and Jon (Terri) Stephens all of Mansfield; daughter, Shelly (Kristin) Casteel of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Gabriel, John, Tyler, Cheyenne, Sabrina, and Bre; great-granddaughter, Alexis; two brothers, Lynn (Phyllis) Hughes and Kelvin (Angie) Hughes both of Indiana; sister, Debra (Kenneth) Witt of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews; and good friends, Mike and Joni Smith and Mary Francola of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road from 1:00-2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
