Dane was a 1972 graduate of Madison High School. He worked as an assembler for Emerson Process Management. A man of unwavering faith, he worshiped God with enthusiasm in his everyday life and with the members of Mansfield First Assembly of God on McPherson Street. His 21 years of sobriety also gave him a family to serve in the AA rooms. Many hours of listening, sharing, and putting others' needs before his own will not be forgotten.
He will be remembered as always encouraging those around him to laugh and enjoy life, to revel in the beauty of nature, to sing out loud with joy, to accept each other without judgement, and to help others see the possibilities of a higher calling, a higher standard of integrity. Those close to him will miss his unfiltered words, his loving heart, and most of all his smile.
Dane has left behind the wife he loved unconditionally, Nancy (Guerin) Seitz; sister, Lani Burson, who could always make him laugh; mother-in-law, Rosine Guerin that trusted him completely; sister-in law, Kim (Milo) Breitinger, that he could never find words to thank enough; sister-in law, Brenda Messimer; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends he loved and prayed for continuously.
In addition to his parents, Dane is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Messimer; grand-nephew, Adam Davis; brother-in-law, Steve Burson; and mentor in life and father-in-law, Robert Guerin.
