Charles Richard Adkins, 83, of Mansfield, passed away Monday afternoon, February 19, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born June 15, 1934, in Briar Fork, Kentucky, one of seven children of the late Norman I. and Lula (Brown) Adkins.
Charles had worked at Peachtree City Aircraft in Georgia for many years. He enjoyed doing body work on cars and painting them as well. Charles was a fan of Bluegrass festivals and attending every chance he could. He also enjoyed camping.
He is survived by five children, Charles Adkins, Gary Adkins, Vickie Hunt, Jerry Adkins and Kelly Adkins, all of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Keith Farmer, Billy Farmer, Zack Farmer, Bobby Stollings, Tyler Adkins, Cory Adkins, Jacob Adkins, Jerry Adkins Jr. and Brandy Adkins; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Juanita Trent, Josephine Sloan and Joyce Ann Bradford; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Adkins; brothers, Toby and Keith Adkins; and sister, Geraldine Adkins.
Private family services will be observed. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family.
