Betty Jane Weidner Mellick

Betty Jane Weidner Mellick, 92, of Mansfield went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Lexington Court Care Center. She was born on November 20, 1924 in Mansfield, OH to Milton and Pauline (Frasher) Weidner.

Betty retired from Lehr Awning Company where she worked as the office manager. She was a devoted and loving grandmother who greatly enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of the Church of Mansfield where she dearly loved her brothers and sisters. Betty enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to books on tape but above all she loved the Lord with all her heart.

Left behind to cherish Betty's memory are her children, Pam Richter and Mike (Linda) Mellick; a half-sister, Cheryl Weidner Smith; four grandchildren, Michael Richter, Brian Richter, April Christiansen, and Amber Mellick; seven great grandchildren, Jessica Richter, Kristen Richter, Justin Richter, Colin Christiansen, Kendall Christiansen, Brandon Richter, and Angelia Das; and a sister-in-law, Rhetta Mellick. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Mellick; a son, Mark Mellick; and a half-brother, Edward Esselburn.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mansfield Memorial Park.
