Betty Buzzard

Betty E. Potts Buzzard, 75, of Mansfield died Sunday morning January 7, 2007 at Mifflin Care Center following an extended illness. Betty was born April 4, 1931 in Athens County, Ohio to William and Hope Kirkpatrick Potts. She retired from The Maxine Shop and was a member of the Mayflower Congregational Church were she was a Sunday school teacher. Betty also volunteered at The Store and enjoyed cooking and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Loren Buzzard of Mansfield; two sons and daughter-in-law, Edward L. Buzzard, Mansfield resident currently in Iraq and Bruce and Julie Buzzard of Mansfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Rick Basting of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Joe Buzzard, Lee, Preston and Evan Basting; one great grandson, Tyler Buzzard; one sister, Mary Lewis of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her father, William Potts; mother and stepfather, Hope Kirkpatrick & Herman Nice and one sister, Evelyn Bennett.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 5-7 P.M. Funeral service will be Wednesday at the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. conducted by Dr. Rev. Gary Wilson and Rev. Rick Basting. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Support Group.
