Barbara "Barb" D. Holzmiller, 82, of Lexington, passed away Monday evening, July 17, 2017, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born January 20, 1935, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Carl and Ada (Campbell) Erre.
She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School. Barb retired from Lazarus in 1972 after many years of service. Her kind and loving nature, as well as her willingness to help anyone in need, made her an instant friend to those she met. She was generous with both her time and talents and was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barb had a deep faith in the Lord and was a long-time member of First English Lutheran Church. Reading, going to church, cooking and playing Bingo were a variety of ways she spent her free time. She most enjoyed being in the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barb is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Fry of Mount Gilead; three grandchildren, Tera (Brenno) Battistoni of Mansfield, Cody McDowell and Heather Fry, both of Mount Gilead; two great-grandchildren, Chase Battistoni and Braylen Fry; two nephews; and a sister-in-law, Fran Erre of Lexington. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Peter Holzmiller; a son, Eric Holzmiller; and a brother, Tom Erre.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
