Alice Mae Willison, age 79, passed away Wednesday evening, February 13, 2013 at Mifflin Care Center. She was born November 20, 1933 in Mansfield to the late Frank W. and Margaret I. (Burdette) Baumberger and was a lifelong area resident.
On December 30, 1955, she married Nelson “Butch” Willison. She had worked for Hartman Electric, Dominion Electric, Rogate Industries, several area shoe stores, Clara’s Pizza and Weidle’s Meats but, by far, her most important job was wife, mother and grandmother. She was a farm girl and loved animals of all kinds. Alice enjoyed cooking and her homemade noodles and stews were a family favorite. In her spare time, she enjoyed working on her flower garden, various yard work and listening to country western music and Elvis Presley. She was a nature lover. Along with her husband, she was a member of Washington Station Street Rods Car Club.
Alice is survived by four children all of Mansfield, Allen Willison (Debbie Finley), Mark Willison (Linda Tucker), Randy Willison and Bruce Willison; eight grandchildren, Keesha and Mike Mosley of Shelby, Marco Willison of Shelby, Nathan (Amanda) Willison of Shelby, Ashley Willison of Mansfield, Logan Willison of Butler, Rebeccah Willison, Cody Willison and Katie Willison, all of Mansfield; fifteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Janet Bullock of Mansfield; special friend, Phyllis Deihms of Mansfield; and her special canine companion, Priscilla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on December 31, 2003 by her husband of 48 years, Nelson Willison; three brothers, Ralph, Alvin and Clifford Baumberger; sister, Violet Bullock; two half-brothers, Frank Jr. and Arthur Baumberger; and three half-sisters, Catherine Valkinburg, Dorothy Seifert and Viola Crandall.
Friends and family may visit from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with additional visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Robert Kurtz of Mansfield Baptist Temple will conduct the service.
