He was born May 27, 1936 in Evanston, Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Walter, his brother James and his daughter Judith. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was with Hercules, Inc. for 42 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Jacqueline. His three loving children, Richard and wife Catherine, Debra Alfano, and James and wife Heather. A very proud grandfather of Samantha, Tim, Jeff, Paul, David, Jesse and great-grandfather to Frances, Olivia and Grant.
Walter’s greatest pleasure was his family. They were the center beam of his life. His greatest passions were golfing with his buddies, music, especially Chopin and his unquenchable thirst for knowledge of world history and all sciences. Traveling was always his love…. suitcase was always packed. He was a Volunteer EMT for 15 years with the Manchester First Aid Squad. He possessed a wonderful zest for life – always had a big smile for everyone. Walter is dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but he will always be in our hearts.
A gathering in his honor will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 11-1 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759.
