Victor Rizzuto

Victor was born in East Orange, NJ to Vito and Jennie DiTrolio Rizzuto. He was predeceased by his siblings: Melchiore, Catherine, Felix, Antoinette, Raymond, and Thomas.

After graduation from Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ, he served in the US Army where he was stationed along with his brother Raymond in Germany.

Victor married his sweetheart, Mary Agnes Connell in 1959. They raised their five children, Victoria (Robert Wolff), John (Lillian), Robert (Maribel), Donna (James Dericks), and Timothy (Lois), in the home he built on Essex Avenue in Bloomfield.

During their 63 years of marriage, Victor and Mary discovered a love of cruising. Victor was so proud to take his children and their families on a cruise in 2005 to Bermuda.

Victor was an honorary Third Degree Knights of Columbus member and a retired member of the Northeast Carpenters Union. He was a Holy Name Society member at St. Bonaventure, now St. Pio Church, and enjoyed participating in the Renaissance Woodworkers and Golf Associations.

As a master carpenter, Victor not only constructed homes, but also helped friends, family and neighbors with their projects. After retirement, together with his sons, Victor built their home at the beach in Lavallette. Later, he enjoyed building furniture and exhibiting his beautiful cork trivets at craft shows.

Above all, Victor took great pride in his family, including his 12 grandchildren: Nicole, Christine, Kelly, James, Kathleen, Samantha, Michael, Danielle, Victor, Jeffrey, Anthony, and Gina. He was especially delighted to be great-grandfather to Brody, Mason, and Winona.

A family and friends are invited to the visitation for Victor which will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 3 to 7 pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Saint John's RC Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. A committal service with military honors will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 12:30-1 PM at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
