Stanley W. Chmielewski, 84, of Manchester, NJ, passed away peacefully, holding his wife’s hand, on Friday December 2, 2022. Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley and Fairfield before moving to the Renaissance in Manchester in 2001.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University, receiving a BS, MBA, MS and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science. He worked for Hoffman-La Roche in Nutley and Totowa for 30 years. He ended his career at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in 2003. After retirement he volunteered with Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood, in their Pharmacy Department.
He was first and foremost a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who always made himself available to his family and friends. He took great pride in spending time with his grandchildren, vacationing with them in many destinations throughout the years, creating lasting memories. He loved playing golf, cards and Mexican Train Dominoes with his friends. He also enjoyed playing bocce, shuffleboard, bus trips and many club activities at Renaissance.
Stan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ginny, his children; Kristen Kaplan and her husband Glen, John Chmielewski, and Alyson Ferrell and her husband Jesse, and his grandchildren; Mason, Noah and Evan. He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Alice, brother Edward and his sister Jaime.
