Oscar Wilde said “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention”. For all who knew Sally Ryan, their lives were touched by her small acts of kindness for they were frequent and always appreciated. Born in East Orange NJ, she was the proud daughter of an Italian immigrant and passed that pride down to her family. A quiet and shy teenager, Sally met the love of her life Robert during her high school years. They married when he returned from military service and remained so until his death. She raised their 3 children in West Orange before retiring to the shore.
Sally loved to cook and to bake, often creating elaborate cakes and cookies for friends, family, and even professionally for a time. She also loved to read, write and garden. She had a passion for Broadway musicals and Colonial US history. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother. Her family loved her more than words can say. She died peacefully in her home and is survived by her 3 children Rhonda, Robert and Roberta, her 4 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren.
