Sally M. Davis, age 77, of Manchester, New Jersey passed away on Sunday February 17, 2019. Sally was born March 29, 1941 in Painters, VA, to Edward and Margaret (Hack) Savage. Sally grew up in Delaware before moving to Ocean County, NJ., where she resided until 1992, relocating to South Jersey until 2003, then back to Delaware where she purchased her home in Greenwood, until returning back home to NJ in 2018.
In the late 70’s, Sally worked as an administrative secretary at Stockton College, all while studying Psychology at Ocean County College, Toms River as well as receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Georgian Court College in Lakewood. After graduating Georgian Court in 1979 she began her career as a social worker at Seaford Manor in Delaware for many years. Sally then went on to work as a Home Health Aid up until last year. Sally was a former member of the Sixth Street Baptist Church in Lakewood, NJ and a member of the Macedonia Church and their choir in Lakewood, NJ. Sally was a special presence in many peoples’ lives and her absence will be tremendous, but she is now at home with her Lord and her family.
Sally was predeceased by her parents Edward and Margaret Savage, her spouse Clyde Davis, sister Anna Mae, and her brothers George, Johnny and Robert.
She leaves to cherish her fond memory, her children Gregory A. Davis and Sharon Davis-Allen (John), her grandchildren Iris Davis (Richard), Charles Allen, Whitney Allen, Gregory Allen, Jr., Malcolm Allen and Nevaeh Davis; her grandchildren Iyanna Erving, Demetrius Northam Jr., Dasayla Northam, Jeremiah Davis, Isiah Perez, Julius Northam; and her siblings Heywood Savage, Elizabeth Savage, Margaret Savage and Luvenia Bailey.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 9 to 10 am at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A funeral service will start 10 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River, NJ 08757.
