Former Roseland Resident and World Traveler in Retirement, "Her Love For Her Family Knew No Bounds" Phyllis A. DeTroia, 92, from Manchester, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4th, 2022. Phyllis was born on July 8,1930 to parents Fred and Ida (nee DiRocco) Turrisi in Orange, NJ. Phyllis grew up in Orange and attended Orange High School. It is here that she met the love of her life, Louis. Married in 1951, they settled in Roseland, NJ where they raised their two children, Louie and Mark. Besides attending to her family, Phyllis worked as an office manager for Dr. Richard Gaines, DDS in Livingston, NJ. In 1987, Phyllis and Lou relocated to Leisure Village West.
Always world travelers, retirement afforded them the opportunity to continue doing what they loved. Multiple trips to Italy, long vacations in Portugal, the Swiss Alps, Russia and South America were only a few of the wonderful trips they took together. Phyllis was a prolific world traveler like her husband which made them an unstoppable couple. Phyllis' love for life and her family were paramount. She was an extremely loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her love for them knew no bounds. Phyl and Lou were together all the time and the only thing that separated her from her husband was her recent illness. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and all that knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 71 years, Louis, her children, Louis, Jr. (Terri) and Mark (Colleen). Grandchildren, Mark Jr. (Jessica), Kaitlin, Matthew (Kelsey) and Kristen (Josh). Her great-grandchildren, Violet, Julia, Daniella, Price and Wells.
Services were held privately. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date and time. Condolences and tributes can be left for the family at www.andersoncampbellmanchester.com. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home 3010 Ridgeway Road Manchester NJ 08759 732-657-5700
