Michael W. Schneider

Michael Schneider, age 72, passed away at Centra State Hospital on November 2, 2022, peacefully, after visiting with his friends. He leaves behind his sister, Beth, his brother Ernie, his goddaughter Rachel and his best friends Anthony, Marty and Kathy and his dog, Lady Ann, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Michael was a jack of all trades but lastly owned the bar the Hitching Rail in Asbury Park.

He was instrumental in the AIDS community, starting the Buddying System and getting medicine to people that needed it. He was larger than life. He started a Monmouth Ocean AIDS information Group to give out information and treatment steps to everyone.

He was married to Willie Brown, they loved each other for 20 years. He cared for him at home on hospice until his death in 2015.

We will love and miss you forever, Michael.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday November 12, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. Luncheon to follow at the VFW on 20 Union Avenue, Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
