Michael DeJohn, 34, of Jamesburg, NJ passed away suddenly at his home. Born in Rahway, Michael was raised in Colonia. He resided in Central Jersey for the majority of his life. Michael enjoyed karate since he was young, becoming the first to achieve black belt status in the Kid Safe program. He became a sensei and enjoyed teaching children karate. He loved playing the drums as well, playing in a few different bands. He went to Woodbridge Vo-Tech and Middlesex County College for culinary arts. Michael was the head chef at Christo’s Kitchen in Monroe Twp. No matter what he was busy doing, he always had time to tell a joke and make people laugh (in several different languages).
Michael is survived by his son Michael, his father Joseph and his wife Andrea of Toms River, his mother Eileen DeJohn of Whiting and his brother Joseph and his wife Grace of Freehold, his step-brother, Jason Mercer and his wife Stefani of Brick and his step-sister Jessica Mercer of Toms River. Also surviving are a host of Michael’s loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
