Marie Mistretta

Marie Mistretta, 86, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Edison, passed away on Saturday November 25, 2017. Born and raised in Newark, Marie attended Central High Scholl where she met her husband of 66 years, Vincent S. Mistretta. She was a member of the Central High Scholl Twirling Squad, which she talked about throughout her life. She was married in 1951 and she supported her husband in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. She started her family in 1953 at Camp Pendelton and was blessed with their three children and their spouses; Laura Tedesco and her husband Frank, Salvatore Mistretta and his wife Claudine and Vincent Mistretta Jr. and his wife Lauri. One of Marie’s favorite things to do was to watch her grandchildren grow and she watched them in their sports and other activities. Amanda Costanzo, Frank Tedesco, Vincent Mistretta, Alyssa Mistretta, Sam Mistretta, Salvatore Mistretta and Nicholas Mistretta. Marie also gushed over her 5 great grandchildren and is also survived by her loving sister Connie Bocchino.

Marie left an indelible impression on her family as a loving caring nurturing strong woman. She is missed and anyone who knew Marie was touched by her goodness.

A visitation will be held at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759, on Tuesday November 28, 2017 from 5-8 pm. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home Wednesday November 29, at 9 am with a service to be offered at 10 am.
