Michael was born on June 27, 1957, in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He resided in Ocean County throughout his whole life, mostly in Brick Township. He worked in various jobs including car repair, truck driving, and as a talented handyman. He enjoyed camping at his favorite camping spots, and traveling whenever he could.
Jude Michael Cole, Sr., is survived by his loving wife of nineteen years, Barbara Aiello Cole of Brick Town, and devoted sons, J. Michael Cole, Jr., age 44, and Christian Lee Cole, age 39, both originally from Brick Town, but more recently residing in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his siblings, Darlene Riva, and husband, William Riva, of Jackson, Barbara Geisler and husband, Joel Geisler, of Lakewood, Edward Cole, Jr., and wife, Rubina Kelley, of Howell, all of New Jersey. Also surviving are his three stepsons, Clifford Volker age 46, and Robert Volker, age 42, both of Brick Town, and Dean Volker, age 40, of Pine Beach. Michael is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Cole, age 23, Emily Cole, age 21, and Maya Cole, age 16, children of J. Michael Cole, Jr., and Isabella Cole, age 19, and Christian Cole, age 10, children of Christian Cole, all of Pennsylvania. Geno Volker, age 8, and Lorenzo Volker, age 8, children of Dean and Nicole Volker, of Pine Beach, and Taylor Volker, daughter of Robert Volker. . Also surviving, are several nieces and nephews. Rebecca Ludtka , Shannon Findlow, Bree Riva, Jennifer Watkins, Jr. R. Geisler, Edward Cole, and Corey Cole. There are several great nephews and nieces too.
Known as a “good guy”, and loved by many, he leaves behind a very saddened, and devoted wife, and many family members, friends, and neighbors. His two sons, Michael, and Christian, never left his side caring for him and trying to make him well again.
Michael suffered from many health issues, including a rare blood disorder called myelofibrosis. It is a form of cancer of the bone marrow disease.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church, 250 Old Squan Road, mailing address, but the location of the church is on Van Zile Road in Brick Township, NJ, right off of Route 88 East, on October 1, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.
