John Patrick Trainor, 86, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2012. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 18, 1925. He was a veteran of the Korean War, in which he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Signal Corps. He lived in Wyckoff, New Jersey for many years. He spent most of his professional career as a Senior Systems Analyst at Citibank in New York City. After he retired from Citibank, he became a real estate agent with MacDonald Realty in Wyckoff. He also owned the Dairy Queen in Ridgewood, New Jersey. In 1995, he moved to Leisure Village in Manchester with his wife Ada, who predeceased him in 2004. John was a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a past Commander of VFW Post 7904 in Leisure Village. He was also a member of the Wyckoff Lions Club, and he served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
A Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 4 at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ, 08755-2182. A Committal Service will follow at Brig. Gen. William C.
