John Szucs

John C. Szucs, age 83, of Manchester Township, New Jersey passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. John was born and grew up in Newark, NJ. John worked as a Union Carpenter for Local 65 in Perth Amboy, NJ for many years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. John proudly built his own home in Somerset in 1971. John loved trips to the beach, tinkering around the house and spending time with family. He loved movies and watching Netflix was his favorite past time in recent years. John always had a sweet tooth. His favorites were Tastykakes, especially Krimpets, Cherry flavored Pepsi, pudding and ice cream and was known for making the family favorite Caramel Cream Pie for the holidays.

John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia, his two sons, John Szucs and Christopher Szucs and his wife Roxanne, his daughter, Suzanne Murray and her fiancee Dale Dickerson, his brother Michael Szucs, sister Dorothy Sileo and husband Richard; his grandchildren; John A. Szucs, Matthew Szucs and his wife Gianna, Cameron Szucs and his companion Ashley, Ian Szucs, Michael Murray, Tara Murray, Caitlin Murray and Thomas Murray, Step-grandchildren Zachary Halfter & wife Jillian, Jake Halfter, Grace Halfter and Hayden Dickerson and his great grandchildren; Damon, Savannah and Caleb. John is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation on Thursday April 10, 2025, from 3-7 pm, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Manchester, NJ 08759. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Saint Matthias Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Somerset, NJ 08873, at 11 am, with interment to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery, 500 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ 08907.
