William "Bill" Trombly Sr.

William R.Trombly, Sr. 71, of Manchester and Davenport FL passed away January 2,2015 at a local healthcare center surrounded by his family after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester on March 23, 1943 the son of the late Frank and Mary (Shea) Trombly.

Educated in the local school system, he was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1961. He honorably served in the U S Army. Bill established a very successful business, Bill Trombly Plumbing and Heating Company. He held membership in numerous professional and civic organizations, among them: National Founder and First Chair of the Quality Service Contractors, founding member of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Education Foundation, a founder of the Manchester Girls Softball at Derryfield Park in the 70's, past member of St. Joseph School Board, past president JF and Associates Credit Union, past president of NH PHCC, past chairman of NH Plumbing Board, past chairman of NH Heating Advisory Council, chairman of St .Pius X Building Committee, St .Pius X Finance Committee, member Manchester Chamber of Commerce, past member of Manchester Zoning Board and Manchester Planning Board. He was voted New Hampshire Contractor of the Year 1985 and National Delta Faucet Contractor of the Year 1987.

Even with all the accolades, he was known to say that his greatest legacy was his wonderful family. His wife Bette (Riley) Trombly passed away in 2006 in the 45th year of their marriage.

Family members include three daughters, Cheryl Bryant, Linda Gagne, and Kelly Chase, all of Manchester; two sons, Michael Trombly of Shirley MA and William Trombly Jr. of Manchester; his fiancé, Kim Ackerson of Windham NH; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Trombly of Walpole MA and Constance Williams of New Durham NH; a brother, Daniel Trombly of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He was also pre deceased by two brothers, Frank and Jim Trombly.

Calling hours were held on Friday, January 9th from 4 to 7 pm in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 am in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd.
