William J. Caissie, 69, of Manchester, died November 29, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Manchester on January 6, 1948 the son of Ernest and Gertrude Caissie and was a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was educated in the local school system.
He was employed by the R. S. Audley Construction Co. of Bow with more than 35 years of service. “Wally” was a true craftsman, not only in the construction trade but also in vintage car and truck restoration, which was his true passion. He could be found at many of the auto and motorcycles shows throughout the state. He also loved spending time with his family and was a friend to all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years and best friend Nancy A. (Roddy) Caissie in 2015.
Members of his family include his daughters Kelley Gallagher and her husband John and Christine Meekins and her husband Kevin all of Manchester, his son William Caissie Jr. of Ohio, his six grandchildren Tiffanie Meekins, Heather Meekins, Samantha Meekins, Timothy Field, Lexi Gallagher and her wife Kristin Wilbur and Brandon Caissie, three great-grandchildren Benji Morris, Sydney Meekins and Logan Meekins and his sister Nancy Riendeau and her husband Paul of Hampton.
Visitation was held on Friday December 15 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Memorial Service was celebrated at 6 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Wally’s name be made to the Manchester Animal Shelter 490 Dunbarton Rd. Manchester, NH 03102.
