Born in Manchester, NH on June 21, 1963, he was the son of the late Charles Sherman Philbrook and Lillian (Slovack) Reisman. Bob graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1981, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, and a Master of Education in Secondary Science from Notre Dame College. He taught Physical Science and Physics for over 30 years, and was known and recognized for his unique approach of demonstration-centric education.
While teaching at Manchester High School West he was a coach for the Granite State Challenge team when they won the state championship. He was a musician, an explorer, a scientist, and a teacher. He enjoyed hiking, kayaking, camping, cooking, boating, and windsurfing, immersing himself in countless books, as well as playing and recording music, and spending time with the family pets.
Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cornelia Schemmel Reisman; daughter, Mikaela Emily Reisman; siblings, Mark Reisman of Epping, Tom Philbrook of Youngsville, North Carolina, James Philbrook of W. Rutland, VT, Richard Philbrook of Madbury, and Marilyn (Reisman) Bradbard of Auburn, Alabama, and many nieces, nephews, and good friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Joshua Reisman; sister, Diane (Reisman) Conn; and nephew, Brandon Conn. To honor his wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to get out in nature and take a walk or read a book.
