Born on November 17, 1943 he was the son of the late Antonio and Germaine (Lemire) Chaput. Robert entered the Army as a young man and was honorably discharged. After meeting the love of his life, he and his wife Ginette raised their family in Manchester and he spent his career as an auto Body Specialist.
Robert had many passions in his life and loved to work with his hands. He could fix just about anything, taking pride in any project he took on. He loved to go fishing, woodworking, going to the firing range with his son, Bobby, and playing pool at the billiards. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, who will miss him dearly.
Robert is survived by his beloved children; Lynda (Chaput) Rawnsley, Richard Chaput. Michael Chaput and Robert Chaput; brother, Albert Chaput; grandchildren, Melynda Chaput, LeeAnna Chaput, Felicia Chaput, Kalee Chaput, Samantha Cate, Sarah Chaput, Zachary Chaput, Heather Chaput and Kelsey Chaput; great-grandchildren, Olivia (Chaput) Rice, Alex Martineau, Faith Chaput, Leo Bedard, Nevaeh Chaput, Warner Kennedy, Davion Ross, Sophia Lopez and Gabrielle Lopez; and many loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his loving wife, Ginette and his sister, Rose Roy.
A celebration of life for Robert will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McHugh Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104. A memorial service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104. A committal and burial will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester, New Hampshire.
