Born to Mary and Winfred Hadley in Bellows Falls, Vermont, she spent her youth in Claremont, NH before moving to Manchester in her teens. She graduated from Central High School in 1958 before going to work for NH Insurance Company.
In 1964 Patricia married the love of her life, John Russell Jr. and after two years in Taiwan they settled in Manchester. She ran a daycare out of her home until she retired in 2005 after nurturing and caring for many children over 25 years. She was one of the founders of CHAMPS- Central High School Association of Music Parent Supporters- and served as one of their presidents. She was also a Girl Scout leader for both her daughters and then later for young girls in her church. She spent many years as a religious education teacher at St. Anne’s parish in Manchester and has been a parishioner for most of her adult life.
In addition to her husband John, Patricia is survived by her children: John III; Timothy and his wife Amanda; Amanda and her husband David; and Heidi Jo and her husband Gary. She was especially proud of her nine grandchildren: Jordan, Addison, Lucas, Colby, Ally, Kyle, Emily, Kevin, and Christopher and her soon to be grandson-in-law Marc.
Calling hours will be held at McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St. Manchester, on Sunday July 11th from 4:00PM-7:00PM. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, 383 Beech St. Manchester on Monday, July 12th, burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Avenue, Manchester.
