Patricia A. Maloney, 75, of Merrimack, formerly of Manchester, died September 4, 2017 at St. Teresa Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on October 22, 1941 the daughter of William P. and Marion C. (Moody) Cook. She grew up in the Queen City, was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School Class of 1959.
Following her graduation she was employed as a waitress at the Puritan Restaurant and also worked at Velcro USA eventually retiring from General Electric in Hooksett. Pat enjoyed watching sons and grandchildren playing sports and could always be heard cheering the loudest from the sidelines. She loved getting together with family and friends and could make anyone laugh with her amazing sense of humor no matter the situation. A woman of strong faith, she was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Merrimack and was an active participant in Marriage Encounter. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was predeceased by her daughter Catherine M. Trimble, her stillborn son, her brothers John “Jack” Cook, William “Billy” Cook and her sister Mary Mitchell.
Members of her family include her husband of 58 years Bernard L. Maloney, Jr. of Merrimack, her daughter Deborah S. Maloney-Methot and her husband Denis, her sons Bernard L. “Skip” Maloney III and his wife Stephanie and Michael T. Maloney, her grandchildren Michael Maloney, Joshua DeNapoli, Michael DeNapoli, Jeremy DeNapoli, Erin Oaks, Casey Trimble, Grace Maloney and Madeline Maloney, five great-grandchildren, her brother Charles Cook and her sisters Joyce Fournier and Barbara Roy as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held of Friday September 8 from 4 to 7 pm at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday September 9 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church 16 Baboosic Lake Rd. in Merrimack. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford. Family and friends were asked to meet at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Pat’s name be made to Catholic Charities NH 215 Myrtle St. Manchester, NH 03104 or to the Wounded Warrior Project 3343 Peachtree Rd. NE #M20 Atlanta, GA 30326.
