Lucien A. Delude, 96, of Manchester died August 3, 2013 at Villa Crest Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Nashua, NH on October 26, 1916, the son of Alfred and Josephine (LaFrance) Delude.
Raised in Nashua, he lived there for many years until relocating to Manchester 25 years ago. Lucien was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific theatre of the war as an Army Sergeant. He had been employed by Sportwelt Shoe Company and later by Nashua Corporation. In addition he was employed for a painting contractor for many years.
Lucien was a volunteer at the Elliot Hospital for more than 20 years, donating thousands of hours of service. He was a communicant of St. Anthony parish in Manchester and a member of the VFW Post #483 and the American Legion Post #3, both in Nashua.
Members of the family include his wife, Doris (Cote) (Bouchard) Delude of Manchester; four daughters, Marie Martel and her husband William of Nashua, Denise Landers and her husband Joseph of Plymouth, MA, Lucy Laramie and Anne Dickinson, both of Milford NH; a son Peter Delude and his wife Colleen of Hudson, NH; two step daughters, Janice Gelinas and her husband Donald of Hooksett, NH and Priscilla Anderson and her husband Phillip of Manchester; two step sons, Norman Bouchard of Weare, NH and Roger Bouchard and his wife Lori of Manchester; 18 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanne Marshall of Ludlow MA and Gertrude Lizotte and her husband Normand of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law, Janet Delude of Nashua; nieces and nephews.
He was pre deceased by his first wife, Sylvia (Vaillancourt) Delude in 1980; two sons, Edward Delude and John Delude; a sister Cecile Caron and a brother George Delude.
Calling hours were on Wednesday, August 7th from 4 to 7 pm in the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover St., corner of Beech St. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, August 8th at 10 AM in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St. Burial with military honors was held Thursday afternoon in St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, Nashua.
