Linda Ann “Lin”, “Lindy” Gelinas, 68, of Bedford, passed away on February 15, 2015 in her home after a six year struggle with Amyloidosis. She was born in Goffstown on August 4, 1946 the daughter of the late Theodore S. and Madalene (Gagnon) Foster. Lin grew up in Manchester, was educated in the Queen City school system, was a graduate of Manchester West High School Class of 1964 and Becker Jr. College in Worcester, MA.
She ultimately settled in Bedford where she lived with the great love of her life, her husband of 49 years Robert F. “Bob” Gelinas. Lin and Bob shared a great passion for each other and the New England Patriots. The unbreakable love they shared gave Lin the courage and strength to meet all of life’s challenges including her debilitating illness.
Lin went on to become a highly skilled executive assistant and entrepreneur working with her husband in several franchises, real estate investments and renovations. An ambassador for charitable causes, she supported amongst others, Girl’s Inc. and the Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
Lin was very active and full of life. An outstanding tennis player, she was a member of the USTA and the Cape Coral Tennis League. Her teammates called her “The Cat” for her agility on the court. She was also an avid “Jazzerciser” and loved to sing along with the music. She loved having projects and fun things to do. Her latest “vision” was always carried out with enthusiasm, vibrancy and sparkle. She loved adventure and bargain hunting, which she called “galavanting”, and made it known that her car stops for all yard sales.
She thrived in art and design. She loved decorating homes, Christmas trees and even cakes. She was also an extraordinary jewelry designer, acrylic and watercolor painter, needleworker and calligrapher. She had a real knack for making things more beautiful and had the cleverest way to get them done. Lin will be remembered most for her will to live, her tenacious spirit and for her tremendous love for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Robert Gelinas of Bedford, her son Robert T. Gelinas of Londonderry, her daughter Courtney E. Bauer and her husband David of New York, Robert’s children Madalene, Robert, Lauren Lin and his step-daughters Charlotte and Jillian and Courtney and David’s newborn son Jacob, all of whom filled her life with the greatest joy.
