She was born in Rochester, NH on September 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Armand and Ruth (Lloyd) Gardner.
Elizabeth was educated in the Manchester school system. She was employed in the Daycare Program at the YMCA in Concord until her retirement. She loved the outdoors, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her dog, Sandy, bird watching, wildlife, nature, and was a member of the Riverbend Elders Program. Elizabeth loved spending time with her family. Her greatest achievement in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart.
She is predeceased by her husband, Jerry Lajoie in 2001.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Wight and his wife Dodie Kidder of Pembroke, NH and John Wight and his wife Lisa Lambert of Goffstown, NH; a daughter, Janet Grenville and her husband Tim of Homosassa, FL; a brother, Pete Gardner and his wife Donna of Stanhope NJ; sister, Germaine DeShong and her husband George of Chambersburg PA; nine grandchildren; four great grand children; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM at McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, corner of Beech St., Manchester, NH 03104. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Funeral Home at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elizabeth Lajoie Memorial Fund, c/o TD Bank North, 50 Glass Street, Pembroke, NH 03275.
