Constance “Connie” (Cantin) Chabot, 71, died August 17, 2014 at The Arbors of Bedford after a lengthy period of declining health. Connie was born on June 9, 1943, the daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Pelletier) Cantin. Connie attended St. George High School in Manchester and was employed at New England Telephone. She became a stay-at-home mother to raise her two children and later returned to the workplace at the Manchester Union Leader in the accounting department from which she retired in 2000.
In 1962 Connie married Roger J. Chabot, who pre-deceased her in 1996 after a long battle with cancer. She loved and took care of him until the very end of his life.
Connie will be remembered as a devoted wife, a proud and loving mother and grandmother and a close friend to many. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, baking, gardening and spending quality time with family. She loved babies, sitting on the deck in the sunshine and looked forward to Bruins home games to listen enthusiastically to her favorite local celebrity, Rene Rancourt, singing the National Anthem.
She is survived by her two children, a son, Steven Chabot and his wife Lisa of Manchester; a daughter Lynn Chabot of Goffstown; two grandchildren, Tanya Chabot and Corey Chabot; her older sister Muriel Doucette of Cincinnati, OH; a goddaughter and niece Carol Ann and two nephews Gary and Greg as well as several cousins
