Christopher Joseph Rainey, 59, passed away on September 7, 2022 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. Chris was born on July 29, 1963 to William F. and Barbara A. (O’Donnell) Rainey. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH.
Chris attended Manchester Central High School before leaving school and joining the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany from 1981 to 1984. After leaving the Army, he spent most of his career as a carpenter.
Chris wished to be remembered most for his sense of humor. He loved to laugh, and loved to make other people laugh. Other things he loved included listening to music; doing crossword puzzles (always in pencil, not pen); and sitting outside with his dog, Emma Lou. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Chris was predeceased by his father, William F. Rainey; his mother, Barbara A. Rainey; and brother, Brendan Rainey. He is survived by his partner, Christine Letares, and two daughters, Zoe Rainey and Stephanie Rainey. He also leaves behind two sisters, Linda Rainey-Mitchell and her husband, Donald Mitchell, and Colleen Rainey, all of Manchester; two brothers, Michael Rainey and his wife, Rachel, of Northwood, NH, and Matthew Rainey and his wife, Nancy, of Manchester; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for Christopher will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McHugh Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 283 Hanover St, Manchester, New Hampshire 03104.
