June 19, 1935 – March 9, 2025
Ted Shuster, 89, passed away in Delray Beach, Florida. Born on June 19, 1935, in The Bronx, NY, to Anna and William Shuster, Ted was a man who lit up every room he entered, making everyone he met feel welcome, important, and deeply valued. His strength, warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ethel Shuster; his beloved daughter, Elayne Levine; son-in-law, Larry Levine and cherished grandsons, Scott and Matthew Levine. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Joann Shuster; nieces, Karen Boutin and Kim Somenske, their husbands Jeff and Jeff, and his grand niece Jenna and grand nephews Justin and Jack - along with a very large extended family of cousins whom he adored.
Ted was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Stephanie Shuster, whom he carried in his heart always.
At 19, Ted proudly enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War in Japan. He built a very successful career at Sun Chemical Printing Ink, and rose to the top becoming their leading salesman through a rare blend of charisma, leadership, and a natural ability to build meaningful relationships with his clients.
Ted and his family moved to Matawan, NJ, in 1968, where he embraced the community. A passionate lover of the arts, he performed with The Temple Beth Ahm Players and found joy in every form of live entertainment—Broadway shows, musical performances, comedy acts, theater, and movies—always sharing that love with his family. He was also an avid traveler, making new friends across 5 continents.
Above all Ted was deeply devoted to his family and all those he loved. He lived his life with passion, honesty and integrity. You could count on him for anything. He made everyone feel special—through a joke, a warm embrace, or his way of truly listening. His legacy of love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
