Born in the Bronx, NY, she lived in River Edge for many years before moving to Manalapan. She later moved to Florida before moving to Applewood Estates 8 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1977, Mrs. Morris was a teacher, reading specialist and Assistant Principal in Haworth for 17 years. She received her Bachelors Degree from Hunter College in New York City and Masters Degree from Paterson State College.
She was a longtime member of Temple Shaari Emeth, Manalapan, as well as ORT, Hadassah and Deborah.
Mrs. Morris was predeceased by her first husband Isidore Hochman, who died in 1964 and her second husband Sumner Morris who died in 2018, as well as her sister Helen Weiner.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children Steven Hochman and his wife Janet and Jerrald Hochman and his wife Nancy, her step-children James Morris and his wife Naomi and Cynthia Mansbach and her husband Paul, her adored grandchildren Nicole Couch and her husband Ryan, Danielle Floyd and her husband Chris, Nicole Steiner and her husband Alex, David Hochman and Deborah Mansbach, and her 5 loving great-grandchildren Kayleigh, Jacob and Jillian Couch and Evanand Jason Floyd.
In concern for everyone's health and due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
