Dr. Rice is survived by his spouse Hilary Turett of 37 years; son Adam Rice and his wife Iva Velickovic; son Bryan Rice; brother David Rice and his wife Alison; and his granddaughter Amelia Rice.
Stephen was predeceased by his parents Abraham and Anne Rice.
A funeral service was held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Avenue, Manalapan, New Jersey 07726 followed by a committal service at 2:30 PM at Mount Sinai Cemetery, 374 State Route 79, Marlboro, New Jersey 07751.
The funeral was previously livestreamed.
Shiva will be observed at the residence of Stephen and Hilary on Monday following the services as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday beginning at 1:00 PM.
