Matthew was born at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Matthew grew up in Marlboro and was a graduate of Marlboro High School, Class of 2022. He was very active in the community, volunteering on the Marlboro First Aid Squad as an EMT. Matthew was currently a freshman at Cornell University studying to become a doctor. Matthew was a loving and devoted brother, son, grandson and friend.
Matthew is survived by his parents Brian and Diane Friedman of Marlboro; his sisters Alexa and Jenna; grandparents Selena Lehneman, Robert Friedman and Diane Bowin; and his dog Whiskey.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Big Brook Park, 521 County Road 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746. Friends and family should plan to arrive at 10:15am. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
Shiva will be observed after the burial on Sunday until 9:00pm; on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00pm - 5:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Friedman residence in Marlboro.
