Born in Rzesnow, Poland, she emigrated to the United States with her family when she was a teenager. Previously she lived in Washington Heights, Rego Park, and Forest Hills, New York, before moving to New Jersey to be closer to family.
Frieda was devoted to family. An absolute best day for her was when she was surrounded by her daughters and son and their families. She was very friendly and during her walks in the neighborhood she greeted friends and acquaintances in English, Yiddish, Polish and Russian, She liked to play cards for pennies and she enjoyed many an afternoon at the Forest Hills Jewish Center doing just that.
Frieda was pre-deceased by her husband, Jack in 2013 and her grandson Joshua Greenberg in 2015. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Mark Miller, her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Harry Martell, her son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Dana Greenberg, her five grandchildren, Sean and Tanya Martell, Brian and Katie Martell, Matthew Miller, Adam and Rachel Miller, and Sarah and David Geller. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Zoey, and Samara Martell, Allison, Lilly, and Julliette Martell, Lucy Miller and Joni Geller.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Manalapan. Friends and family should arrive at the funeral home between 10:15am-10:45am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery, 130-04 Horace Harding Expressway, Queens, NY. Shiva will be observed at the home of Aaron and Dana Greenberg in Freehold.
Donations in Frieda’s memory may be made to the United States Holocaust Museum or the Chabad of Western Monmouth County.
