Kunder, William “Bill” George, 90, of Port Charlotte, Florida and Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 in his daughter’s Mystic Island home surrounded by family. Born in Philadelphia, PA , an avid Eagles and Phillies fan, his family also had a home in Surf City, NJ where he enjoyed fishing, clamming and gardening.

During WWII Bill served in the Army Air Corp. Bill attended Swarthmore College and Drexel University. He went to work for IBM. Bill married his life-long sweetheart, Dolores, in 1952. They raised three children in Pennsauken, NJ. Upon retiring after 36 years with IBM, Bill and Dolores moved to Florida where he was very active with the Native Plant Society. He gardened and grew many fruit trees.

Predeceased by his brother, Stephen, Bill is survived by his loving wife, Dolores; his sister, Dorothy Leas (Ted) of Wyomissing, PA; and, three children and their spouses: Bill Kunder (Helen) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; Bob Kunder (Debbie) of Port Charlotte, FL; and, Lynn Vogt (Bill) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ.

Bill was ”Pop-pop” to eight grandchildren: Will Kunder, Ed Kunder, Bill Vogt, Chris Kunder, Katie Vogt, Matt Kunder, Laura Pence-Vogt, and Jon Vogt. All will dearly miss their Pop-pop. He also has four, soon to be five, great-grandchildren. Bill also was an uncle to three nieces and two nephews.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Feb 3 at Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr. Manahawkin, NJ. From 7:00 to 9:00 PM. On Thursday, Feb, 4, an additional viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Pines in Manahawkin, NJ, Followed by burial at St Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin. www.shinnfuneralhome.com
