Thinking of my friend today, miss you Buddy, always will!

I can't believe it's been a year. I will never forget my friend Steve.  He had a great soul, and always in a great mood. He was my plumber for many years.  He was a master at his job!!
He is very much missed. 
We bring him up all the time with my other contractors.  
Rest in peace 🙏...

we miss you Steve …. our world is a lesser place without you here.  The Spring/Summer months were desperately sad with out you to guide us through our apiary ups and downs.

ah well, you are always in our hearts and minds and in every sip pf local honey ….. will strive to make you proud in the Spring with “Steve” strong hives that only you and Margaret knew how to nurture.

His college friends from 50 years ago are also mourning. But we are so grateful he cared enough to spend 2 days on the highway and put over 1,000 miles on his classic car to visit with us.  We all thoroughly enjoyed him, and reminded him how important he was to each & everyone of us. Safe passage my friend.

Edylene was his first grandkid, and only granddaughter. They had a special relationship that continued to deepen through the years. We love you pop pop 

So sorry to hear this news.  And yes Steve, I do remember you. Who could forget 321 Kiefaber?  Some of my best memories are from those days back in Dayton when I came to visit my bro.  You were the calm one with the grin, as if you knew something the rest of us didn't, and you probably did.  Glad to hear you had a good ride.  My condolences to your family.  Rest well.

My heart goes out to your whole family, Stephen will be missed and I will never forget how kind he was to my son.  Anytime I would visit Margaret, Mr. Woodford was always ready to take Garrett on a little adventure.  My family is so sorry for your sudden loss, we are here if you need anything.  

Thank you Steve for your guidance and wisdom as you mentored Martin & I in the art and science of beekeeping. Through your smiling eyes and patience we easily learned.  thank you for freely sharing your intelligence, compassion and apiculture intuition. 

in this learning process we formed heartfelt friendships with you and Margaret. Grateful to have watched you beam  as the adoring & loving husband. our times in the bee yard and back at the pool were priceless moments of awe and laughter and always more learning!

thankyou also for your time and talents as you rescued our home from many HVAC challenges over the years. always showing up with a smile and calming presence 

you seemed to carry the world forward with your work and your friendships & with your rescues & mentoring skills. We are blessed to have walked a few miles with you as friends and fellow bee keepers. Our world is a lesser place without you here & we will miss you forever.

Condolences to the whole Woodford family. Steve was a special part of my high school years. He was the first to get a car and we got into quite a bit of mischief. He always had a little bit of the devil in him and that amazing smile saved him on many occasions.  

Stephen and I met in '71 freshman year at the Univ. of Dayton, We were roommates and thus began our 51 yr. friendship. We continued to live together the remaining 3 yrs in various houses off campus, mostly with the same housemates. A very close friendship with a group of folks was formed during this time. Though we all moved on to different parts of the country we have all remained very close and still get together every few years. This past October was one of those gatherings and we had 4 wonderful days together. Time stands still when we get together. It has now become extra special and sad that it was the last time together with a special friend. I especially will as well as the rest of this crew will truly miss him and that easy going demeanor & great smile. Till I meet you on the other side my friend, go in Peace!

Steve was my plumber and my HVAC guy for many years. 
But above all he was a great friend. 
I spent  two hours with him the morning of his passing and I spoke with him again just before noon.
Later that day I received the terrible news from his wife . 
Nothing can prepare you for something like this. 
I'm in shock and heart broken. 
Rest in peace my friend 😔. 


Mr. Woodford - I would deny this if asked but I always had a little crush on you. Your gentle humor and silent strength always intrigued me.  The way you held yourself back in the face of teasing was admirable. Your love for Margaret was always apparent. Going to the flower shows with you was a highlight. I will miss our breakfast chats while you spread Marmite on your toast ( yuk!) I am so glad that I got to hang out with you. Thank you for lighting fires in the living room to keep me warm. I will do my best to take of our Margaret. Rest in peace. Mr. Woodford. 

Steve, Without any mandate, you took a great interest in guiding and developing me to be a better, more capable person. You gave me more than a job and mentorship, you gave me the tools (literally and metaphorically) to take control of things that I had no control of. You saw and recognized a need in me and you responded. You didn’t have to, but you chose to, because you are a great man with a big heart beneath those tough and calloused hands. I am forever grateful and better for having known you. Thank you for being there for me and for being you. May you rest in peace and in knowing your love and legacy lives eternal through all whose lives you touched. My deepest condolences to Vivian, Chris, Margaret, Jesse, Lauren, your brothers, and all of you. RIP, Steve. Miss you, my man. - John Lovrich
