Raymond Allen

Raymond Allen, 88, of Long Beach Twp., NJ, formally of Lawrenceville, NJ, departed his loving family on August 26, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Allen after 67 years of marriage along with their five children, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His oldest son, Kirk, with his two children, Scott Allen and Tracey Allen. His daughter Cyndi, and her husband Jim Sferra. His daughter Jill, and her husband John Heim with their daughter Lauren and her husband, Chris Cray, with their three children, Brody, Greyson, and Wyatt. His son Craig Allen and his wife Laura with their two children, Ben Allen and Rachel Allen. Finally, his youngest child, Randall Allen.

Raymond worked for the Public Service Electric & Gas Company(PSEG) out of Lawrenceville for over forty years when he retired as Senior Electrical Engineer. While in Lawrenceville, he oversaw inter mural sports at the Lawrenceville Prep School. He made many friends and connections along the way. He enjoyed woodworking projects and refinishing furniture. He golfed and fished and liked to do artwork. He was also active in the Barnegat Light community as part of the Re-Clam the Bay.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Bay Breeze Pavilion located at 6th Street and Bayview, Barnegat Light, NJ, with a reception to follow at the Zion Lutheran Church located at 18th Street and Central Avenue, Barnegat Light, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Barnegat Light Ambulance & Rescue Squad. In addition, donations and special recognition can be made to the Meridian Health – Southern Ocean County Hospital, Emergency Room Staff and specifically the 3rd Floor Nursing Station in honor of Raymond Allen.
