Lorraine Marion Pearson

Following cremation, a memorial service and reception will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5800 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach on Saturday, August 9th at 2:00; followed by a celebration of her life at her Surf City home.

Lorraine was born in Jersey City on 2/17/1934. Her loving parents William and Marie (Inselman) Martens took her home to Fairview with her older siblings George and Elizabeth. She graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1952. She went on to Englewood Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. After nursing school Lorraine married the love of her life Wallace (Wally) Pearson. He predeceased her in 1987. For 39 years Lorraine provided loving care at Englewood to countless patients while raising her three children. Following retirement Lorraine could not give up her passion for nursing and went back to work at two nursing homes, only retiring for good at the end of 2010.

Lorraine and Wally’s married life was full of love and family. They especially enjoyed helping their children and all their friends as they moved through their life journeys. Everyone was welcome in their home no matter what the time of day or the circumstance.

Lorraine is survived by her loving children Gary Pearson, Drew Pearson, Linda Behr, numerous grandchildren, a great granddaughter, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose hearts she touched over her lifetime.
