She was born in Fredericksburg, Va to Emmette Long and Jean Ward Long. She attended Longwood University and graduated in 1977 with a degree in Elementary Education.
On July 10th, 1982 she married Nathaniel Eismann of Manahawkin and they began their life together in New Jersey. She resumed her teaching career and taught for nearly 30 years until her retirement in 2016. She taught for the Stafford Township School District, where she was named Teacher of the Year for the district in 2002.
She was an active member of both her home congregation at Fairview Baptist Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the United Methodist Church in Manahawkin, NJ.
As a member of the Manahawkin United Methodist Church Jennifer taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, served on the preschool board, was a member of the young adults group, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Jennifer was a loving mother to her three daughters Emily, Katherine, and Audrey.
She is predeceased by her father Emmette Long, and her daughter Emily Elizabeth Eismann.
She is survived by her mother Jean Ward Long, husband Nathaniel Eismann, daughters Katherine and Audrey Eismann, sisters Susan Jones and Alice McGinnis, several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Emily Eismann Scholarship Fund, in care of Manahawkin Methodist Church, 116 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 from 6:00pm-9:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A funeral service will be held at the Manahawkin Methodist Church, 116 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Route 9, Manahawkin, NJ.
