Dear Emily and Michael, I am your Aunt Sonia and I wanted to express that my love and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. I only wished to have spent more time with my sister Ivette, because as I read the messages she was an amazing person. I hope that you find comfort and support to know that your mom touched so many lives and continues to be loved by so many. I would love to meet you both some day. P.S. To my sister's husband Michael: may you seek comfort in knowing that Ivette's sisters and brothers loved her very much, thought of her constantly and kept pictures of her in our home. That regardless of the distance we experienced all of these years, we sought our comfort in knowing that she was happy with her extended family and friends; and all we ever wanted for my dearest sister Ivette was her happiness.  We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Ivette. She was a wonderful, kind and intelligent person that was devoted to her family. I remember every time we visited when we were young she always made us feel very welcomed. We will miss her greatly.

 A month has passed since God called you home and our journey is now complete my love. Me and the children are now safe with family here in Florida just as we wished. I'm hoping time will heal our loss. In memory of a beautiful woman - inside and out.  What we will remember and miss most about Evy was the peaceful, easy way in which she lived her life. From what I know of Ivette from Mike telling me his family stories, is that she was was an amazing mother and wife. And everytime he spoke of Ivette he would smile from ear to ear. And I thought how rare that is for someone to be overjoyed speaking of his wife and family. And I thought one day I hope I can have an ounce of the love that Mike and Ivette have for each other.

I had the pleasure of working with Ivette. Each day she brought life to the office. No matter the circumstance she always had a smile on her face. My prayers are with her family during this hard time and I wish them all the best.

I only spoke with Evy once, at Back to School Night for Mrs. Smith's 2nd grade class where my son Logan is in class with her son Michael.  She was very lovely to me. It has been rather difficult for me to know Evy will not be calling me and we share our adventures of torture the medical field has prescribed for us.  It is however good to know she will not have to endure any further tests – treatments - no more biopsies.  I know she was all the while dealing with the fact her daughter and son will have to grow-up without her love and guidance.  Evy was a pretty special person whom I enjoyed her company before our cancer's and during them lately.  While I know Mike will do his upmost  to raise the gifts of Emily and Mikey that Evy left in his care – I know he is going through his loss of a lover, partner and dearest friend.  It is a monumental task he has ahead of him but I hope he keeps Evy ever in their minds..  She will be sorely missed but I am glad to know she isn't being torn apart between her family and the cancer issues..

I will remember Evy always as a wonderfully strong and loving mother.  Her courage helped unite a group of wonderful parents(Michael's 1G class).  They all stepped up to the plate to show their love and caring by donating meals for several months to help her family.  Many wonderful friendships were made and continued with Evy due to this.  I will always look back with great pride at the parents who showed through example how to take care of one another. Evy was our inspiration.  My thoughts and prayers will be with the family always.
