Dylan Aaron DeStefano, of Barnegat / Manahawkin, 19 years old, passed away on October 12, 2022, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Anyone who knew Dylan knew that two of his greatest passions were his Honda Street Bike and his Nissan 350 Z. Dylan was also an avid physical fitness buff and was very regimented in his pursuits of this passion. He fashioned himself an ametuer chef and worked at Mud City where he considered the staff and owners his second family. The Mud City family has been extremely supportive of Dylan’s family and friends during this difficult time. He was loved by family and many friends.
A memorial rally was held in Dylan’s honor in his hometown on Friday evening and was attended by hundreds of people who knew and loved Dylan #ForDylan. His mother and brother addressed the sea of people, cars and motorcycles with a heartfelt thank you and the family released a lantern in honor of Dylan before departing the rally.
Dylan is survived by his mother, Miranda DeStefano, father, Alberto DeStefano, brother, Matteo DeStefano, grandparents, Janice Turner, Maria and Ralph DeStefano and uncles, Edward Haskins and Marco DeStefano. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Edward JP Haskins. While many other people in Dylan’s life have impacted him greatly, those of which the family would like to note include Robert McLaughlin Jr., Courtney Bonicky, Sam Barbato, Melissa Bernard and Godparents, Cara Fiorillo & Jerry McCorry.
Visitation services will be held at Thos L Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 3:30pm-9:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at10:00am at St. Mary of the Pines, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ.
The family requests that those attending the visitation bring a favorite photo or memento of Dylan to include on a memory wall for Dylan.
