David Robert Holloway

David Robert Holloway, 58, of Warren Grove, NJ passed away unexpectedly on September 2, 2023. He was born on October 5, 1964, in Toms River, NJ. David was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle and friend.

David was known for his generosity. He had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his father, Clarence (Buzzy) Holloway, his mother Judy Holloway (Dyer), his sisters Kim Verdine (Dan) and Kelly Clark (Mike), his brother Jeff Holloway, his nieces Katie Verdine, Jamie Hargis and Kirsten Holloway, his nephews Daniel Verdine (Kayla), Jonathan Hargis and Thomas Holloway and his great-nieces Adrianah Lowe and Shylah Hargis along with many Aunts , Uncles and Cousins and Friends. David was preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and Leona Holloway and Elwood and Dorothy Dyer.

David received his education from Oxycocus Elementary School and Southern Regional High School.

David dedicated 36 years of his life to working for Stafford Township Public Works. He was a dedicated employee who enjoyed his work immensely. David would arrive at work early in the morning and be the last one to leave in the afternoon locking the gate behind him. He willingly took overtime whenever it was offered. David received an award from the mayor for coming to work on his time off and painting one of the garbage trucks. His commitment and work ethic were truly commendable.

In his free time, David had a passion for hunting and enjoyed watching his favorite football team the Buffalo Bills. He was an avid fan of Martin Truex, Jr. and followed his NASCAR races religiously. He also loved collecting things and going to Columbus Market to bring home “goodies” from the Amish bakery for everybody he could get to eat those unbelievable donuts!

David will be remembered for his kind-heartedness, dedication and love for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation for David will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A visitation will take place on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will occur on Monday following the visitation. A committal service will occur following the funeral service at the Reevestown Cemetery, 60 Warren Grove Rd, Warren Grove, NJ 08005. The family kindly requests if you choose to donate to David’s favorite charity in his name, it is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He sent money from every paycheck to help the kids.
