Bonnie was born in Charleston on June 9, 1940 to the late Ray & Dorothy Bostic Stuart. She was retired from the Department of Health and Human Services with 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of the Riverview Gospel Tabernacle where she served as the Treasurer. Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook and always made sure her family was taken care of.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Agnes Stuart, Winnie Smithson & Dorothy Thompson; brothers, Robert “Gene”, Shirley & Haven Stuart.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald Brown Sr.; children, Donna (Jeff) Smith of Charleston & Ron (Paula) Brown Jr. of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Samantha (Joey) Carney & Shannon (Jody Sovine) Clark all of Charleston, Emily (Dustin) Shue of Jacksonville, NC, Amy Bennett & Bryant Adkins both of Cross Lanes; great grandchildren, Derek & Kalyee Carney, Landon & Ella Clark, Bryson Morgan (three weeks old), Makayla & Maddox Bennett, Remmington, Raegan & Rowan Shue, Austin & Danica Adkins; brothers, Ollie (Ivy) Stuart of South Point; Ervin (Pat) Stuart of Sissonville; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stuart of Charleston & Grace Stuart of Cass City, MI; brother-in-law, Kenner (Garnet) Brown of St. Albans; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday October 11, 2017 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Rev. Norvell Adkins officiating. A private family committal service and burial will be held on Thursday at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
A visitation with family & friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank her home health nurse, Kiana Smith and Dr. Cohn and the Hubbard Hospice House for all of their love and care.
