Stephanie was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Blake; stepfather, Wayne Blake and sister, Robin Curry.
She is survived by her daughter, Hunter Martin; father, Harold Ferrell; stepmother, Linda Ferrell; sister, Erica Ferrell; stepsister, Shelly Fannin, and stepbrother, Tom Snead, along with many other family members.
Stephanie was a Dupont High school graduate, Class of 1981. She then went on to study Broadcasting Radio/TV at Marshall University. She graduated from West Virginia State University in 1985 minoring in Communications, Speech/Theatre and a B.S. in Journalism. She then went on to join the Army in 1985. During the time she was in the Army, she worked for the Wall Street Journal and later landed a career in modeling in NYC.
Stephanie eventually became a 1st Lieutenant in the Army and was honorably discharged in 2001. In 2011, Stephanie went back to school at WVU for a degree in Interactive Marketing & Communications. She started her own photography business, won many awards, and was able to have many pictures showcased throughout the country on multiple occasions.
In 2018, Stephanie founded the U.S. Women Veterans Advocacy Initiative. She put her whole heart and soul into the non-profit organization. Her mission was to help others in need and to be someone’s hero. Stephanie was a hero to most and was loved by many. She leaves behind many veteran brothers and sisters who plan to continue her legacy.
A private family celebration of life will be held, 11:00am, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with Pastor Mike Long officiating. There will be a walk through visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it is mandated by the Governor and the CDC that proper facial coverings be worn and that social distancing be observed. Temperatures will be taken upon entry to the funeral home.
