Sue was born in Charleston of July 4, 1935, to the late Charles and Kathlene Kegley Stone. She was a 1953 graduate of Charleston High School and a member of the Kanawha City Baptist Church.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Thomas and Charles K. Payne III; daughter, Kelly Byers.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Julie Gentry of Charleston; Brother, David (Melinda) Stone of Charleston; grandchildren, Jessica Gentry, Matthew (Michelle) Gentry and Savanna Byers; great grandchildren, Mason, Madison, Myah Gentry and Grason Kelly all of Charleston.
Cremation has been honored and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
