She was born and raised in Widen and was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Ethel Young Sigman; five sisters, Emma Jo Kayer, Betty Fizer, Lois Browning, Mary Lou Barnette and her twin sister, Brenda Sigman; and four brothers, Wayne, Ronnie, Rodney and Keith Sigman.
Before ending her career, Linda worked for Capital City and Montgomery Ward as a bookkeeper.
She is survived by sisters, Phyllis Ball of Bloomingrose and Judith Powell of Dumfries, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Nancy Sigman of Ivydale and Karen Sigman of Charleston; brothers-in-law, Jim Browning of Strange Creek and Jerry Fizer of South Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. The committal service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Walker Cemetery, Keener Ridge, Braxton County.
Family and friends will gather for the visitation two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family wants to send a special thank you to Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church and Marmet Nursing Home for providing loving care over the last year.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Linda’s memory to Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church, 320 Campbells Creek Drive, Charleston, West Virginia 25306.
