Jimmie was born at Winifrede, West Virginia on October 19, 1938, to the late Orville and Sylvia Curry Green. He attended Cedar Grove High School and was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad with 30 years of service. Jimmie loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and banjo. He loved working in his flower garden, especially growing beautiful roses which he often picked and gave to his wife.
Along with his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Green; and brother, Johnny Green.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Geraldine Kincaid Green; son, Richard (Susie) Green of Charleston; daughter, Nancy (Barry) Brasseur of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brother, Jackie (Dorothy) Green of Ohio; five grandsons, Nathan (Kristin) Green, Travis Green, Austin (Katelyn) Green, Matthew and Michael Brasseur; and three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Alivia and Parker Green.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with HR Whittington officiating. Burial will follow at Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
